Abyssinian Tours & Travel is a fully licensed Ethiopian tour company which started operations in 1990. It is run by Ethiopians with a great deal of experience in the travel and tourism business.

For centuries the very name Abyssinia has evoked mystery and wonder in the western world. Although one of the oldest Christian nations, the country's remoteness and rugged terrain meant that for a thousand years she remained isolated from the rest of the world.

Those few travelers who were lucky enough to reach Ethiopian sent home tales of her great natural beauty and wealth, proud and noble people and a magnificent, unique culture. Those who had never been here were reluctant to believe those stories, challenging as they did, their own complacent assumptions.

Only in very recent times has some of the splendor of Ethiopia begun to be documented and her fame spread through out  the globe. Yet those who have come to know the country better claim it is clear that much of her heritage is still not widely known, her landscapes largely unexplored, her cultures and peoples still mysterious.
